What is Hubsat ?

Hubsat makes it possible to quickly establish an analogue/satellite radio bridge without any infrastructure. More specifically, you receive PTT satellite communications on your analog radios and vice versa. This operation allows you to make a radio “bubble” around the satellite case. The advantage is to retransmit satellite communications to an infrastructure radio network or nearby devices.

The bridge function can be associated with a zone (set of radio channels) in order to control retransmissions. You also have the option of activating or deactivating the bridge function remotely.

Depending on your needs, we offer two solutions based on this technology: the Husat box and the Hubsat-VL.

Global coverage

The Hubsat box works with the Iridium satellite network, the largest and most complete network in the world. This ensures a stable and reliable connection no matter where you are.

Robust and easy to transport equipment

This solution is suitable for professionals who work in difficult environments. Your equipment is protected in a case that will withstand extreme conditions.

The Hubsat box can be powered by 12 or 220 Volts (cables are provided).

Inside your suitcase you will find:

- A 12V power cable with cigarette lighter socket
- A 220 V power cable
- A 20-meter RJ45 cable (for the IRIDIUM antenna)
- A satellite antenna with magnets and a multi-purpose mounting pad.
- A VHF or UHF magnetic-mount antenna depending on the version.
- A coaxial cable for a 3 meter radio antenna
- A stainless steel mounting bracket for Iridium antenna.

A quick solution

The Hubsat Box has been designed for rapid deployment.

In a vehicle, you can strap it into the trunk of your 4x4, install the antennas on the roof and connect the suitcase to a cigarette lighter socket.
In an infrastructure, you can quickly install the satellite antenna thanks to the 30 meters of ethernet cable as well as the radio antenna.

The case can be powered from 220 or 12 Volts.

Several examples of use:
- A team with several analog radios can use the PTT satellite network, inside or around a building.
- You can extend satellite coverage around a vehicle by radio, which is very useful when use in convoys for example.

Good to know: The case can be compatible with any analogue radio network.

Simplified remote management

The equipment has been designed to allow you easy remote management. You can activate or deactivate the bridge by radio or by changing zone or channel.

Other characteristics of the Hubsat box:

  • Full compatibility with all types of analog radio networks
  • 15 remotely configurable talkgroups
  • Frequencies: 136-174MHz in VHF/380-470MHz in UHF
  • Power 7 W satellite part, up to 25 W radio
  • RJ45 satellite antenna socket
  • Type “N” radio antenna socket

Global global coverage

The Hubsat-VL benefits from the Iridium satellite network, the largest and most complete network in the world. This ensures a stable and reliable connection no matter where you are.

Optimal integration in vehicle

The design of our equipment has been specially designed for integration into a vehicle, the box integrates mounting brackets.

An economical and complementary solution

The Hubsat-VL satellite gateway complements your existing ICOM PMR and IRIDIUM PTT Satellite equipment (if you already have one). This means you do not need to renew your entire fleet and and you can control your costs by choosing the equipment that best meets future needs (PMR or satellite).
Analogue operation on the radio part allows total compatibility with any type of VHF or UHF network.

Simplified remote management

The equipment has been designed to allow you easy remote management. You can activate or deactivate the bridge by radio (5-tone control) or by changing zone or channel. The functionalities of the HUBSAT module are defined via the mobile radio, using the CS-F5400DP programming software.

Other characteristics of the Hubsat-VL:

  • 15 remotely configurable talkgroups
  • Powered by the mobile radio
  • Frequencies: 136-174MHz in VHF/380-470MHz in UHF
  • Compatible with ICOM radios only, possible to transmit to all analog networks.
