We make it a point of honor to make the understanding of IRIDIUM subscriptions as clear and transparent as possible, by offering you detailed explanations of their benefits and how they work, so that you can get the most out of them.
The PTT Satellite solution takes advantage of the IRIDIUM global network, allowing you to communicate unlimitedly in a set of geographical areas (talkgroup) that you have previously defined. These zones can be fully adjusted in real time from the Iridium PTT command center web interface. This allows you total flexibility according to the evolution of your needs. Activating your subscription is immediate, remote and no SIM card is required.

Subscriptions tailored to your coverage needs

Your subscription is defined according to the geographic area you want to cover. At Iridium, these subscriptions are called “Talkgroups”. It is therefore important to know approximately the surface in which your teams will operate in order  to choose the best solution:
  • Up to 100,000 km²: Small Talkgroup
  • Up to 300,000 km²: Medium Talkgroup
  • Up to 750,000 km²: Large Talkgroup
  • Up to 1,500,000 km²: X-LargeTalkGroup
  • Up to 2,250,000 km²: JumboTalkGroup
As a general rule, Small and Medium “Talkgroups” mostly respond to requests.
It is also useful to know that you can divide your perimeter into several “bubbles” (maximum 5 bubbles for a small Talkgroup, and each of them must be at least 17,670km²) wherever you want. The important thing is that all the bubbles do not exceed the number of km² planned by your talk group.

Example: In the web user interface, you can create a bubble in Paris and a bubble in Sydney for example with a Small “Talkgroup”.

Each subscription allows you to choose between 2 tacitly renewable commitment periods :
- Quarterly commitment
- Annual commitment

Good to know: a small Talkgroup is offered as soon as you have 5 satellite PTT devices.

Control in real time your covers thanks to the intuitive web interface

The software allows you to define your coverage areas in a rectangular or circular manner. Do not worry, a small counter is present to show you the remaining surface to be set up. These bubbles can be consulted at any time and can be modified instantly to allow you total flexibility according to your needs.

As a reminder: if you want to create several bubbles, the minimum area of each of them is 17,670 km² for circles and 22,500 km² for rectangles. For a small Talkgroup you can create up to 5 bubbles and 10 zones for the others. If you want, our technical team can help you define your bubbles and manage them remotely.
